Mr. Gonzales
Mack Gonzales Mack L. Gonzales of Lampasas died Dec. 8, 2008, at Regal Nursing & Rehab in Lampasas. He was 79.
Funeral mass is Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mr. Gonzales was born July 2, 1929, in Lampasas, the son of Bernabe S. (Ben) and Basilia Lopez Gonzales.
He married Angelina Calderon, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 2005.
Mr. Gonzales served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Civil Service at Fort Hood where he worked in the body shop.
He also worked for Ray Jones Boot Co. for many years.
Mr. Gonzales earned an associate's degree in accounting. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Martin (Sonny) and Patty Gonzales of Grapevine and Daniel and Melissa Gonzales of Lampasas; three daughters and their husbands, Irma and Juan Garcia of Harker Heights, Melissa and Douglas Yule of Horseshoe Bay and Susan and Leon McKenzie II of Lampasas; and two sisters, Mary Castro and husband, Ramon, of Lampasas and Adela Miller and husband, Steve, of Garland.
Other survivors include nine grandchildren, Juan Daniel Garcia, Leah Gilbert and husband, Michael, Karen Gonzales, Rikki Rodrigues and husband, Benny II, Kasey McKenzie, Crystal Cude, Amanda Cude, Jennifer Webb and husband, Austin and Carmen Gonzales; and two great-grandchildren, Delaney Sanchez and Benny Rodrigues III.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Richardson.
