Lady Badgers fight to the finish with Ellison, fall by four points
      The Lady Badgers did not leave Killeen with a victory, but they certainly made a statement. Looking up from a 14-point hole in the second half, Lampasas fought Ellison to the bitter end, cutting the Lady Eagles lead down to two points in the final 15 seconds before falling 57-53.

Playing shorthanded down the stretch, Lampasas loses 60-43
      With foul trouble plaguing several key players on the Badgers' squad, Burnet pulled away to a 60- 43 victory on the road last Tuesday. Seniors Jordy Carnes, Warren Scott and Jorge Mendoza all spent the fourth quarter serving as spectators from the bench while the Bulldogs rode the coattails of Tyson Denton, a 6-7 post, to victory.

      BASKETBALL The Lampasas Middle School eighth-grade "A" team took a 2- 2 record into the Thanksgiving holiday after knocking off Marble Falls and making a nice run in the Burnet Tournament. The Badgers started their season with a 40-30 home win over Marble Falls.

      On my office wall above my computer is a numbered and signed print by noted Texas wildlife artist John P. Cowan. The print is titled "Any Way You Can." The watercolor depicts a West Texas blue quail hunt in the Trans Pecos region.
