Katherine Hutton

Katherine Dyer Peeler Hutton died Nov. 25, 2008, in Mesquite.

Funeral services were Dec. 1 at the Chapel of Alta Mesa Church of Christ. Burial will be Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mrs. Hutton was born June 17, 1921, in Lampasas, the daughter of Fred and Pearl Peeler.

She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1939, and Tyler Commercial College in 1942.

Mrs. Hutton worked as a secretary in Austin and Fort Worth for Civil Aeronautics.

At the end of World War II, she married Karah L. Hutton on Nov. 11, 1945, after he served for more than three years in the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific.

He preceded her in death on June 16, 1986.

Survivors include a son, Fred Hutton and wife, Lee; daughters, Carolyn Hutton and Kathy Mercer and husband, David; and grandchildren, Jonathan and Joshua Mercer and Carey M. Hutton.
