Former Lady Badger Constance Rosado recently competed in the 24th annual Long Beach International City Bank Marathon, placing fifth in her division (women 16-19). Rosado finished the half-marathon in a time of 1:57:00.

More than 9,000 runners took part in the halfmarathon.

Rosado was a three-sport athlete during her tenure at Lampasas High School, excelling in cross country, track and soccer before being accepted into the University of Texas' School of Architecture where she is a sophomore.

FISHING

The City of Lampasas Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a Sulphur Creek Kids Fishing event Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Trophies and prizes will be awarded in selected age brackets. Door prizes will also be available.

Participants may bring their own fishing gear or they can use fishing poles and tackle furnished by the city.

Kids can register on the day of the event beginning at 8 a.m.
