Hideko Dewalt gave a presentation on "Butterflies and Moths" when the Browning Community Garden Club met recently at Mrs. Dewalt's home in Copperas Cove.

While living in Panama for three years, the Dewalts began their collection with excursions into the jungle. She explained how they caught, prepared and mounted the different varieties for display.

Brunch was followed by a tour of the DeWalts' hillside flower gardens.

The business session was opened by Roxanne DeWalt's reading of "October Party," by George Cooper. Gloria Gardener was welcomed as a guest.

Four members attended the Zone 1 meeting in Goldthwaite. Carol Huls read "Make the Best of Your Garden," taken from the Lone Star Gardener.

Doris Magnor spoke on the first observance of Thanksgiving in America. It was held in 1621 on the James River in Virginia.

Koneta Saum reported on the bake sale. Proceeds will go to fund the club's service projects. A donation was made to the Texas Garden Club's Friendship Book.

A Christmas tea is set at Sharron Van Weelden's home on Dec. 9 at 10:30 a.m.
