Lometa toddler receives crown
Chloe Thorp Chloe Thorp, 2, of Lometa was crowned the 2008 national Today's Baby Photogenic & Portfolio winner in August at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Houston.
This was Chloe's first year to compete in the Today's Girl youth organization.
Today's Girl provides opportunities to grow in leadership, poise, self-confidence and character. It also offers scholarship opportunities for college-bound students.
Organization youth also are involved in volunteerism through community service. Contestants must perform eight hours of community service each year before they can compete at the state competition in JUne.
Chloe is the daughter of Randy and Joni Thorp, and the granddaughter of Tommy and Ronnie Ault of Lometa; Jerry and Debbie Blakley of Izoro; and Jay and Glinda Thorp of San Angelo.
She is the great-granddaughter of Lucille White of Lometa; Tommy and Vernette Harkey of Lampasas; Florene Blakley of Izoro; and Lloyd Thorp of Tow, and the great-great-granddaughter of Irene Head of Lampasas.
