Burson-Latham
Amanda and Kolton Latham Amanda Burson and Kolton Latham, both of Gatesville, were united in marriage on Sept. 27, 2008, at The Vineyard at Florence.
Elder Bruce Crawford of Lampasas officiated the doublering evening ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Brian and Donna Burson of Florence. She is the granddaughter of Rosie Brown of Lampasas and the late W.L. (Bill) Brown of Lampasas, and La Dain Burson of Austin, formerly of Georgetown, and the late H.R. (Bud) Burson of Georgetown.
The groom's parents are Mark and Shana Latham of Gatesville. He is the grandson of Jackie Jones, Tanna Jones and Bennie and Betty Latham, all of Gatesville. He is the great-grandson of Glada Jones.
Musical selections included "The Wedding March" for the bridal processional, and "Don't Stop Believing" for the ceremony, played on the fiddle by Sandra Parrish of Pleasanton.
The outdoor setting for the wedding featured chairs overlooking a view of the vineyard. Altar arrangements consisted of tall glass vases on columns filled with lily grass flowing out of the top, with assorted succulents and white garden roses lining the rim of the vases.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, chose a Casablanca Bridal creation.
The bodice and waist of the ivory silk taffeta gown were accentuated with gathers. Satincovered buttons lined the back of the gown to the end of the train.
The bride chose a vintage birdcage veil to complement her gown.
She carried a natural-stem bouquet of hydrangeas, ranunculus, dahlias and freesia in shades of white and ivory, wrapped in silver ribbon. The bride's baby bracelet was tied into her bouquet.
Matron of honor was Amanda Bell of Florence.
Bridesmaids were Jacque Brown, the bride's cousin of Arlington, Va.; Esther Tucker of Stephenville; and Haley Latham of Gatesville, sister of the groom.
Attendants wore vintage silver dresses of taffeta by Moira Lee. They featured vertical shirring overlaying the strapless, empire bodice and meeting the shirred midriff into a bubble-hem skirt.
They carried bouquets of garden roses, ranunculus, hydrangeas, thistle and tulips in shades of hot pink and medium pink, wrapped in hot-pink ribbon.
Best man was Justin Latham of Gatesville, cousin of the groom.
Groomsmen were Bradley Burson and Weston (Pete) Burson, brothers of the bride of Florence; and Kendal Latham, the groom's brother of Gatesville.
Ushers were Brett Adams of Florence; Trey Haas of Austin, cousin of the bride; and Justin Eary of Gatesville, the groom's uncle.
Guest registrar was Amanda Hosman of Florence.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance were hosted by the bride's parents in the Harvest Room at the Villa Firenze.
The four-tiered monochrome red-velvet cake was adorned with silver ribbon and a vintage bride and groom cake topper, which originally belonged to the bride's grandparents, Bud and Dain Burson, who were married on Aug. 24, 1951.
Arrangements of horsetail and white hydrangeas were the centerpieces for the dinner tables at the reception.
After a trip to San Antonio, the couple is at home in Gatesville.
The bride is a 2001 Florence High School graduate. She earned a degree in agricultural services and development in 2005 from Tarleton State University. She teaches agriculture science at Gatesville High School.
The groom, a 2001 Gatesville High School graduate, is employed by Coryell County Road & Bridge.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at Johnny's Steaks and Bar Be Que in Salado.
