Randall Joe Benningfield of Lometa died Nov. 17, 2008, at his residence. He was 48.

A memorial service was Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lometa with the Rev. Scott Edmondson and Minister Bob McClinton officiating.

The body was cremated.

Mr. Benningfield was born Aug. 22, 1960, in Brownwood, the son of Billy Joe and Jeannette Fisher Benningfield.

He grew up in Goldthwaite and attended school there, graduating from high school.

Mr. Benningfield then attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

He married Tina Phelps on Feb. 2, 1984, in Goldthwaite.

Mr. Benningfield was an auto mechanic for the Ford dealership in Goldthwaite until opening his own shop in Lometa in 1995.

Survivors include his wife of Lometa; two daughters and their husbands, Kimberly and Michael Young of Indiana, and Teffany and Brent Wagner of Stephenville; a son, Branden Benningfield of Lometa; a brother, Rick Benningfield of Denver City; and his grandmother, Charlene Benningfield of Goldthwaite.

The family requested memorials be made to Odyssey Health Group.
