The San Antonio-Lampasas Club met for its fall gathering on Nov. 2 at LaFonda Restaurant in San Antonio. About 50 members and guests were present. Carey Deckard welcomed everyone before dinner was served. Afterward, Deckard called on members for traditional sharing of news. Bobbye Alexander Behlau read a letter of appreciation from Preservation Lampasas Inc. thanking the club for the fund-raiser for the Lampasas Colored School restoration project held in the spring. Club members agreed the next fund-raiser will benefit Keystone Square Museum. Sarah Northington Fox introduced David and Gloria Smith and their grandsons, Sam and Ty Pauly, (top photo) who presented a program about their family history and the advantages of small-town living. Before dismissal, the club was entertained by the Harrell and Nell Witcher Sutherland Family Bagpipe Group (bottom photo). The next meeting will be in the spring of 2009 in Lampasas.
