GOP at fault

2008-11-18 / Letters

I really wish I could say President-elect Barack Hussein Obama is the fault of the Democrat voter. The Democrats have pushed a socialist agenda for decades, and now they have one in the White House. The truth is the fault lies within my own party.

You Bush back-stabbers (you know who you are), those so-called conservatives who didn't vote to teach our party a lesson, why don't you just admit what you really did was to "take your marbles and go home." Georgy didn't do everything you wanted, so you aren't going to vote at all. Thanks so much for your loyalty, and I really appreciate the "change" you have brought about.

As for Senator McCain, he never really did want to win this election. In an effort to be bipartisan and not hurt Barry's feelings, he lost all the debates and didn't grow a backbone until it was too late. He left his conservative base early in search of so-called moderate votes, and all he did was make us mad and force us to pick the lesser liberal. Sometimes reaching across the aisle is just being a compromiser.

The only true conservative in this whole race was Sarah Palin. Yes, I will admit it: I did not vote for McCain; I voted for Mrs. Palin. Now look at how the Republicans are treating her!

They say the vote of the people is a reflection of the heart. Thank God at least in Texas we still have a little sense. The re-election of Senator Cornyn and strong conservatives such as Congressman Mike Conaway and Gail Lowe (Texas State Board of Education) gives me a little hope that perhaps we can salvage a little bit of this country. (This "Secession of Texas" business sounds like a better idea every day, doesn't it?) California shocked me when the people voted against gay marriage. In a state traditionally hostile to family values, this was an encouraging vote.

Whatever change you Democrats get, you deserve it. The rest of us are just victims. I will say this to the arrogant, pro-choice, president-elect: I think there are still some good ol' boys left in the nation. I don't think it will be as easy to take over as he thinks. (Those of you Second Amendment supporters, stock up. He's coming after you first.)

Because I am an optimist, I am really trying to look for the good in this situation. I foresee a type of spiritual revival. Historically, when a nation is in trouble, God's people begin to humble themselves and pray. I think you will begin to see the separation of those socalled Christian conservatives and the old saints willing to die for their faith, their God and their country. Perhaps President-elect Barack Hussein Obama is what we need to get back to our spiritual roots. Our founding fathers must be rolling in their graves at this travesty.God help our nation for the next eight years.
