Dorothy Jackson A memorial service was held Nov. 15, 2008, at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas for Dorothy Marie Jackson, 93, of Lampasas. The Rev. George Lumpkin was officiant.
Mrs. Jackson's body was cremated and her ashes will be buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas at a later date.
She died Nov. 13 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple.
Mrs. Jackson was born June 9, 1915, in Blanco, the daughter of Alvin Cicero and Virginia McAdams Bagby.
She married James Word Jackson on Nov. 25, 1933, in Lampasas.
Mrs. Jackson was a hairdresser and had worked at Producer's Produce. She and her husband were co-owners of Jackson's Restaurant in Lampasas.
She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church and enjoyed creating artwork.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Wykes of Lampasas; a son and wife, Larry and Yamile Jackson of Houston; five grandchildren, Trina, Jason and wife Monica, Jill, Abby and Zachary; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Samantha, Sydni and Brogan.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, James Darrell Jackson; five brothers; and two sisters.
The family requested memorials be made to the Lampasas Senior Center.
