Service awards went to blood drive volunteers, from left, Stella Miller, 16 years; Ruby Miller, 18 years; Wanda Meyers, 25 years; and Rosemary Bishop, 20 years. Awards were presented by Gloria High, right, Southwest Region blood services. The final American Red Cross blood drive of the year garnered 75 pints of blood, bringing the year's total to 344 gallons through five drives.

And that translates into 1,032 lives saved, said Wanda Meyers, blood drive coordinator for AMVETS Post 80.

"For every gallon of blood donated, that's three lives saved," Mrs. Meyers said.

Clark Corbin received a 15-gallon pin. "He is the largest blood donor we have had in Lampasas," said the drive coordinator. "That means he gave over 120 pints of blood. We are very appreciative of him and all of our regular donors."

Corbin has been a regular blood donor since 1976.

Diane Davis was presented a 10- gallon pin, and Patsy Yeary was awarded a two-gallon pin.

Mrs. Meyers thanked all of the donors and volunteers for their time efforts.
