Disappointing endorsement
      Your endorsement of Sen. John McCain for president on Oct. 21 was very disappointing, not for your endorsement but for the reasons you gave for the endorsement. Unfortunately, the McCain campaign has used many of the half-truths, lies and misrepresentations found in your editorial.

      Is anyone else as confused about what's going on in our country as we are? Where did common sense go? We don't think anyone should be running for the highest office in the greatest country in the world who is associated with someone who wrote and dedicated a book to the killer of Robert F. Kennedy.

      Throughout the nation's history, America's soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen have bravely answered the call to defend our freedom, to aid our friends and allies, and to turn back aggressors. We can never fully repay our debt of gratitude to the more than 650,000 American service members who died in battle or the 1.4 million who were wounded.

Tribute to Key Avenue road warriors
      Even though gas prices have gone down here recently, I don't suppose they've gone down enough to justify cruising Key Avenue with no particular agenda in mind other than waving to your friends and honking the horn as they pass by going the opposite direction.
