      A memorial service for Carrie Mallett Oakley Copley, 99, of Burnet was Nov. 3, 2008, at Clements- Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Copley died Oct. 31 in Burnet. She was born June 18, 1909, in Lake Victor in Burnet County, the daughter of Thomas Hardin and Amkea "Anna" Mallett, where she lived until her marriage.

      Funeral services for Barbara Alberta Baize Cantwell, 81, of Lampasas were Nov. 2, 2008, at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Burial followed at Gillum Cemetery at Oakalla. Mrs. Cantwell died Oct. 30 at Continuing Care Hospital in Temple.

      Tipton Ellis Benjamin, 81, of Lometa died Oct. 30, 2008, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. A private service will be held at a later date. The body was cremated. Mr. Ellis was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Ada, Okla.
