      Applications for emergency farm loans for damages and losses caused by drought that occurred May 1 and continuing are being accepted at the Farm Service Agency office located in Hamilton County, according to D. Dale Vann Sr.

      The report from the Oct. 29 sale at Lampasas Cattle Auction is as follows. Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 1,209 compared to last week at 820 and 1,155 last year. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers $2-$5 lower; slaughter cows and bulls steady to firm. Trade active and demand good.
