Hornets take 45-point win
      Lometa appears to be back on track. On the heels of a three-game losing streak, the Hornets outscored their last two opponents 97-6, including a 45-point shutout victory over Prairie Lea last Friday.

Bake sale
      Lometa's American Legion Auxiliary will hold a bake sale at the red light today beginning at 8 a.m. Sugar-free goodies will be offered. Proceeds will be used to send local girls to Bluebonnet Girls' State next year.

Part-Time Players to entertain Nov. 15; dinner to be served
      The Part-Time Players is a group of Lometa citizens and Lometa High School graduates who make up the cast of "Dearly Departed," a comedy by David Bottrell and Jessie Jones, set Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Lometa School auditorium.

Runners headed to regionals
      Behind a pair of second-place team finishes at the district meet, both Lometa varsity cross country squads are advancing to regionals in Arlington on Nov. 8. The varsity boys were paced by John Faulstitch (seventh overall) and Dylan Straley (ninth), who both earned individual invitations to the regional meet as well.

Church sets stew dinner
      Lometa Methodist Church will hold its Awesome Autumn Stew Lunch for community members and to welcome hunters. The event is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 100 S. Second St. The menu will include a choice of three stews, cornbread, dessert and a drink. Tickets are $5 each.
