More than half of the Capital Area Food Bank's donations each year come in during November and December. That's more than 635,000 pounds of food in two months.

The food bank invites volunteers, 18 and older, to accept donations from the public on the receiving dock and/or inspect and sort food in product recovery each weekday through the end of the year.

Volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds.
