Maxine B. Moore Funeral services for Maxine B. Moore of Lampasas will be Oct. 31, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Briggs- Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Burial will be at Warner Cemetery in Lake Victor.

Ms. Moore died Oct. 29 in Lampasas after a 3 1/2-year battle with cancer. She was 58.

She was born April 30, 1950, in Lampasas, the daughter of Ben and Gladys Stinnett Brown.

Ms. Moore received a bachelor's degree in accounting and worked for Command Performance in Houston for 20 years.

For the past six years, she was owner/operator of the Wagon Wheel Cafe in Lometa, which was recognized for its chicken-fried steak by a food critic from "Texas Monthly."

Ms. Moore was a member of Church of the Hills of Lometa.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Jim and Terri Moore of Lampasas; a daughter and her husband, Misty and Byron Cole of Harker Heights; her mother, Gladys Hill, of Lampasas; four brothers, Bobby, Lester and Gary Brown, all of Lampasas, and Ty Brown of Burnet; a sister, Wanda Phillips of Lampasas; and five grandchildren, Becca, Gracie, Chelbi, James (Cooper) and Kamiann.

The family requested memorials be made to First State Bank of Burnet in Lampasas.
