MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

The Lampasas Middle School eighth-grade volleyball teams played Hill Country Middle School last Thursday, and the "B" team won in three sets.

After falling 25-22 in the opener, the Lady Badgers bounced back to win the second 25-16 and sealed the victory with a 15-11 win in the tiebreaker.

Unfortunately, the "A" team lost in two sets (25-11, 25-18).

On Saturday, Copperas Cove Junior High hosted a "B" team tournament and the eighthgrade Lady Badgers went 3-1, falling two points short of advancing to the championship bracket.

Against Copperas Cove, Lampasas lost the first set 25-18 before narrowly winning the second 25-23. In their second match, the Lady Badgers won in straight sets, both by the score of 25-12.

Next up for Lampasas is a trip to Dripping Springs on Thursday.

HORSE RIDING

The Indian Hills Riding Club will hold its Halloween horse and rider costume contest on Oct. 25. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the contest following at 10 a.m.

The club's final show will begin immediately after the contest. There is no fee for the contest, but members must pay $7 to participate in the show and non-members must pay $8.

Contact Bobby Vaughn at 512-715-2330 for more information.

TENNIS

After playing just two games against Lake Travis on Tuesday, a rain storm washed away any chances for Lampasas to finish its final match of district play.

Lampasas already sealed up its first trip to regionals in school history with a victory over Hendrickson last week.

The match against the Cavaliers was rescheduled for yesterday afternoon.

For full results see Tuesday's edition.
