GOP sheriff candidate David Whitis shared a few words with the golfers and other attendees. Lampasas County Republican Party recently hosted its 10th annual golf tournament and picnic fund-raiser at Hancock Park Golf Course.

"It was well attended and very successful," event spokesperson Marcia Wallace said.

A silent auction also was held, and various local and state officials were on hand for the hamburger and hot dog lunch at the park pavilion.

The 18-hole tournament featured a four-man scramble, under nearperfect weather conditions.

"This tournament was the best one we have had," Mrs. Wallace said.

People who were not able to attend the fund-raiser but still would like to make a donation may contact Skipper Wallace, Lampasas County GOP chairman.
