Judge gives 20-year term in drug case

In recent 27th District Court action with Judge Joe Carroll presiding, an Early man received a 20- year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division.

Arlyn Levert Williams, 37, was found guilty of possession of a chemical with intent to manufacture. He was given credit for time in jail.

Kempner resident Benjamin Charles Fitzgerald, 17, received five years' deferred adjudication probation, including restitution, for debit card abuse.

Amy Lynn Hernandez, 25, was given four years' deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. She also must serve 90 days in the Lampasas County Jail and was credited with time already served.

For possession of a controlled substance, Don Dwayne Griffin, 48, received three years' probation and a $1,000 fine. He also must pay $140 in restitution.

Richard Guy Jensen, 45, of Copperas Cove was given three years' deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine for aggravated assault/ threat with a deadly weapon.

Ashley Monique Montemayor, 32, of Rising Star, is expected to enter a plea Oct. 24 for possession of a chemical with intent to manufacture.

A pretrial hearing is on the Oct. 24 docket for Blair Duane Wright, 40, of Buena Vista, Colo., for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.

A Nov. 7 pretrial hearing is set for Lori Michelle Cumming, 32, of Lampasas for criminal non-support.

A Dec. 8 jury trial is slated for Schcobi Laron Grimes, 33, for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.
