Margie Irene Boyd, 86, died Oct. 13, 2008, in Vernon.

Funeral services were Oct. 15 at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel in Vernon with Dr. Ben Macklin officiating. Burial was at Wilbarger Memorial Park.

Mrs. Boyd was born Nov. 25, 1921, in Rayland, the daughter of James and Mary Enolia Dale Cantrell.

She married John E. Boyd on June 19, 1938, in Altus, Okla., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2000.

Mrs. Boyd worked at S&H Green Stamp and Gibson's Pharmacy for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Jan Chiles of Lampasas, Ann Fox of Vernon, and Sherry Frantz of Hartley; one son, Jim Boyd of Quannah; two sisters, Mildred Owen of Ardmore, Okla., and Lois Standlee of Vernon; 10 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Box;l a granddaughter, Tammy Diane McReynolds; and a daughter-in-law, Lynda Boyd.

The family requested memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
