After fast start, Lady Badgers fall to defending district champs

      The Lady Hippos have a huge advantage over their competition. Her name is Jessica O'Shoney. The 6-foot-1 middle blocker gave Lampasas' offense fits Tuesday evening, leading Hutto to a threeset victory (25-17, 25-11, 25-8) over the Lady Badgers inside Bozarth-Fowler Gymnasium.

10th annual GOP golf tournament called 'best one'
      Lampasas County Republican Party recently hosted its 10th annual golf tournament and picnic fund-raiser at Hancock Park Golf Course. "It was well attended and very successful," event spokesperson Marcia Wallace said. A silent auction also was held, and various local and state officials were on hand for the hamburger and hot dog lunch at the park pavilion.
