After falling into an early 14- point hole against Lake Travis on Thursday, the Badgers junior varsity football team could not overcome the deficit and lost 42-12.

The Cavaliers set the tone right off the bat, returning the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown.

After Lampasas punted the ball on the following possession, Lake Travis added to its lead with a 13- yard touchdown pass before Tanner Mobely answered for the Badgers, scoring on a 15-yard run.

The Badgers' Luis Capallera came up with an interception on the ensuing Lake Travis series, but Lampasas could not move the ball and had to punt after going threeand out.

Lake Travis blocked the punt, setting up a short field situation for the Cavaliers. It took the visitors just three plays to tack on another touchdown, making the score 21-6.

The Badgers answered a few minutes later when Perkins broke free on a fourth-and-nine play, running for 57 yards and the score.

But Lake Travis quickly added to the margin on a 26-yard touchdown strike with less than two minutes remaining in the first half. After a successful two-point conversion pass, Lake Travis took a 17-point cushion into the locker room.

It did not take the Cavaliers long to increase their lead in the second half. A fumble on the first play from scrimmage set up Lake Travis for another touchdown. The Badgers blocked the point-after kick, keeping the score 35-12 with 8:39 left in the third period.

Lake Travis' final touchdown came on its next possession when it marched 77 yards to the end zone. The extra point made the final score 42-12.
