MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL

The eighth-grade "A" team defeated Hill Country Middle School 8-6 on Tuesday, thanks to a stingy defense and a solid running game.

In the third quarter, Kleg Kennedy found Tyler Perkins for a 50-yard touchdown, tying the score 6-6 before Josh Barbero hit the go-ahead kick.

"Our O-line played its best game, and we played a rotation of four running backs to control the clock," LMS athletic coordinator Jim Burks said. "This is a big victory over a good program."

Hill Country is a feeder school to Westlake High School.
