Rain earlier in the week provides measure of relief
Thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday brought two inches or more of rain to most parts of Lampasas County. Lampasas received 1.8 inches of rain Monday, according to the National Weather Service observer station. Dave Hamilton measured 1.6 inches of rain Friday at his home west of Lometa. Austin resident Blynda Lou Brooks, 58, died Oct. 4, 2008, in an Austin hospital. Funeral services were Oct. 9 at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with burial at Hurst Ranch Cemetery in Goldthwaite.
