New offense gains ground
Badgers lose 34-6 despite revamping scheme, installing wishbone
      The Badgers unveiled their newlook offense against Hendrickson once Mother Nature finally decided to let them. Lampasas tweaked its offense during the bye week and took to the field on Saturday afternoon sporting a wishbone formation and a new quarterback. Earlier, an unforeseen lighting storm forced officials to reschedule the game from Friday night.

LHS tennis team narrowly defeats Brownwood 10-9
      The Lampasas tennis team proved it can overcome adversity. After falling behind 8-5, Lampasas rallied to take five of the final six matches, completing an impressive comeback and defeating Brownwood 10-9 on Saturday. Prior to the upset, Lampasas was winless against Brownwood. Now the team hopes to keep the trend of firsts continuing.

Badgers win first at Temple Invitational
      Nothing could slow Brandon Willie and the Badgers down. Not even a "killer" hill. Willie scorched the course surrounding Lion's Park, including the steep incline awaiting runners just prior to the finish line, winning the individual gold medal and leading the Lampasas varsity boys' cross country team to first place overall at the Temple Invitational on Saturday.

      The Badgers' freshmen Blue team saw a 20-6 halftime lead almost vanish entirely before edging out a two-point victory over Hendrickson last Thursday.

      Junior Jontell Ritz passes a ball to the front line as Mariah Jones (1) and Madison Morris (6) look on during Friday's loss to Lake Travis in Bozarth-Fowler Gymansium. The Lady Badgers lost in three sets falling to 0-3 in district play.

      I had to make a decision last week. It was not a real important decision such as congressmen had to make on whether or not to support the bailout of financial markets, although it did concern my time and finances. In a previous column I mentioned the special drawings on Texas Parks and Wildlife Public Hunting Lands, and how to apply for the hunts for several species.
