Local law enforcement officers and public safety officials will host the 25th National Night Out event tonight from 6-9 p.m. at the H-E-B parking lot.

National Night Out is an opportunity for citizens, law enforcement and other officials to join forces to promote crime-prevention awareness and to send a message that the community is working together to prevent crime.

Residents are invited to bring a lawn chair, meet with officials, and have hot dogs and drinks and music with their neighbors.

They can share comments, complaints, compliments and thanks, and ask questions of public officials.

Law enforcement officials from across the county have been invited to attend.
