Mr. Krempin
Robert Krempin, a lifelong resident of Topsey in Coryell County, died Sept. 25, 2008.
Funeral services were Sept. 29 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Kerzee officiat- ing. Burial was at Copperas Cove City Cemetery.
Mr. Krempin was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Topsey, to Ewald and Jennie Johnson Krempin.
He attended school in Topsey and became a member of the Methodist church at an early age.
He married Lorene Bradley on Aug. 9, 1947.
During World War II, Mr. Krempin served in the 38th Infantry Division in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon with One Bronze Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with One Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal Victory Ribbon and One Overseas Service Bar.
Upon returning to the states, Mr. Krempin resumed farming and ranching interests and worked in Civil Service at Fort Hood until his retirement in 1979.
Mr. Krempin enjoyed roping and tending his cows.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Roy and Mona Krempin of Topsey; two grandsons, Chad and wife, Jennifer Krempin of San Angelo, and Clay Krempin of Brownwood; and two greatgranddaughters, Julia Marie Lorene and Catherine Aliece Krempin, both of San Angelo.
He was preceded in death by his wife in February 1988; by a sister, Minnie Farrell, in 1988; and by three brothers, Oscar, J.W. (Buster) and E.W. Krempin.
The family requested memorials be made to Pidcoke Methodist Church.
