Central Texas Hay Show, CEU program set Oct. 16 in Burnet
      The Central Texas Hay Show is open to all hay producers in Burnet, Llano and Lampasas counties. This educational program and hay show will be held Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Burnet County Fair Barn behind the Burnet Airport on Ellen Halbert Lane.

      The report from the Oct. 1 sale at Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 1,216, compared to last week at 1,320 and 868 last year. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 500 lb., $10 lower; over 500 lb., $5-$8 lower. Slaughter cows $5-$7 lower; slaughter bulls $5 lower.
