Lampasas County to offer prescription drug discount card
      Lampasas County will soon be introducing a discount card program to help consumers cope with the high price of prescription drugs.

FFA Annual Meeting
     Signing in Lampasas FFA members Jessica Sterling and James Lansford work the registration table and assist parents and members at the annual FFA Potluck Meal and Membership Drive held recently at Lampasas Middle School. More than 220 FFA members and guests attended and enjoyed a meal, paid dues and purchased custom FFA items.

Model T Ford Club coming to Lampasas
      The Space City T's, the Houston chapter of the Model T Ford Club of America, will hold its 31st annual Texas T-Party in Killeen Oct. 2-5, and will include a stop in Lampasas. This year, the group is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Model T. The tour schedule follows.

      Buttons is a friendly, young female Corgi-mix who is full of energy and affection. She has a medium-length coat with black and tan markings. Archeology program slated
      A program and workshop on the archeology of Central Texas will be presented Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. at Mills County State Bank meeting room on the Courthouse Square in Goldthwaite. Tiffany Osburn, regional archeologist of the Texas Historical Commission, will present the program at the free meeting.

GED testing to be offered in Gatesville
      The next GED test at Gatesville High School will be given Oct. 7-8. Those wishing to take the test must complete registration Oct. 1 from 5-7 p.m. in room 22 at the high school campus. Bring a current state or federal photo identification (such as Texas driver's license), a Social Security card and the $65 test fee.

City offering two free events in October
      The city of Lampasas is offering two free events in October. On Oct. 4, Music on the Square, from 8-11 p.m., will feature The Sieker Band. Bring a lawn chair and a beverage for an evening of Texas bluegrass music. On Oct. 11, "Iron Man" will be showing for the Movie in the Park. The event begins around 7:30 p.m. at W.M. Brook Park.
