Dixie McGehee Dixie Nell Perkins McGehee, 89, died Sept. 21, 2008.

A graveside service was Sept. 24 at Restland Cemetery in Dallas.

Mrs. McGehee was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Briggs, the daughter of Lena and Roscoe Perkins.

She grew up in Lampasas where she attended school. She married James McGehee in 1936.

In 1952, the family moved to Carrollton where they owned and operated a Western Auto store and an Army store.

Survivors include daughters, Jimmie Nell McCracken of Austin, and Gloria Ripoll of Lucas; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ethel Mae Yazell and Helen Salcher.

She was preceded in death by her husband after 68 years of marriage; by a daughter, Cornelia "Connie" Ray; and siblings, Bobbie Perkins Hamric and Glynn Perkins.
