Ollie "Janie" Eakin Funeral services for Ollie "Janie" Eakin of Lampasas County were Sept. 25, 2008, at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with Brother Doyle Combs and Cindy Dack officiating. Burial was at Tye Cemetery in Oak Grove.

Mrs. Eakin died Sept. 20 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. She was 79.

She was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Palestine, to Herbert Clay and Mary McDonald Anderson Jones.

Mrs. Eakin's father was a railroad man and the family traveled to various states and attended schools wherever they lived, including Arkansas, California and Texas.

She married David Hinkson Eakin on June 8, 1967, in Glen Rose.

Mrs. Eakin was a member of Star Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Alice Eakin of Evant, and Mary Ellis of Fort Worth; a son, Kenneth Wyatt of College Station; a sister, Joy Celestine Swenson of El Paso; five grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

The family requested memorials be made to Star Baptist Church or Tye Cemetery Association.
