Thomas Brackett Thomas Howard Brackett, 73, of Rising Fawn, Ga., died Sept. 16, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Funeral services were Sept. 21 at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas with Ron Hendrix officiating. Burial was at Kempner Cemetery.

Mr. Brackett was born June 9, 1935, in Chattanooga, the son of Charles Ben and Martha Gaddis Brackett.

He served in the U.S. Army, retiring as a specialist 6 from Fort Hood in 1974.

Survivors include a son, Michael Brackett of Kempner; a stepson, Kenneth Brown of Copperas Cove; stepdaughters, Shirley Hendrix of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Pam Haynie of Lampasas; a sister, Margie Lytle of Fort Oglethorp, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas H. Brackett Jr., and

Richard Marlin Brackett.
