Cornwell-Swift Melissa Cornwell and James Swift, both of Evant, plan to exchange wedding vows in an Oct. 4, 2008, ceremony at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lampasas.

Miss Cornwell is the daughter of Bill and Connie Cornwell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Bonnie Manfull of Tucson, Ariz.

She attended Sandra Day O'Connor High School, graduating in 2006, and was a student at Glendale Community College from 2006-08. Miss Cornwell is a monitor tech at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Russell and Teresa Swift of Evant.

He is a 2004 Evant High School graduate and earned a degree from Universal Technical Institute in 2006. He is an ASE master certified technician at Firestone in Brownwood.
