County should keep taxes down

2008-09-16 / Letters

With a national ailing economy, high unemployment and home mortgage foreclosures on the rise, what are the Lampasas County commissioners thinking by proposing a tax increase?

Currently, many folks in this county and in this great nation are struggling to try to make ends meet. Commissioners, please tell us what are you thinking?

As taxpayers, I don't think we should be punished or suffer for bad decisions that you all have made, but please allow me to make a suggestion.

How about selling the 12.65 acres of land that was purchased to build a new county jail on?

That would be a savings of $525,000 to the taxpayers and would keep our taxes down. Do you agree?

Oh, and one more thing: Can you please tell us taxpayers how you can get blood from a turnip?
