County should keep taxes down
      With a national ailing economy, high unemployment and home mortgage foreclosures on the rise, what are the Lampasas County commissioners thinking by proposing a tax increase? Currently, many folks in this county and in this great nation are struggling to try to make ends meet. Commissioners, please tell us what are you thinking?

Correction noted
      Editor's note: Chriss Echlin ("Gov. Palin's inaccuracies") has offered a correction to her letter that was printed Sept. 9 in the Dispatch Record. Ms. Echlin said, "I used the wrong commission rate in my comparison between eBay and the aircraft broker's commission.

Taxpayer money
      I really resent the Texas Legislature taking $500 million that didn't belong to them and putting it in their General Fund. This money was donated by electric subscribers for the purpose of helping those who couldn't afford to pay their electric bills.
