Kempner City Council unanimously has approved the city's fiscal year 2008-09 budget. The action came following a public hearing at which no citizens expressed their opinion of the budget. The budget was accepted with one minor change. Mayor Gene Isenhour said the estimated revenue from ad valorem tax was reduced by $2,044. This lowered the property tax revenue to $85,879. More...

Keystone Square Museum opens new exhibit
The public is invited to see Keystone Square Museum's newest exhibit, "Cotton, Wool and Mohair: Lampasas County Agriculture," which explores aspects of the history of these important industries in Lampasas County. Sue Nance Barrett died Sept. 11, 2008, at North Austin Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. She was 61. Funeral services are Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas with Ministers Reid Schaub and David Bruce officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. More...
