Georgia Grindle Funeral services for Georgia Lee Grindle, 81, of Lampasas were Sept. 13, 2008, at Sneed Funeral Chapel with Minister Reid Schaub officiating. Burial was at Center Cemetery near Lometa.

Mrs. Grindle died Sept. 11 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital.

She was born Feb. 19, 1927, in Lometa, the daughter of Harvey and Pearl Decker Ivy.

She was married to Richard B. Grindle, and he preceded her in death in 1984.

Mrs. Grindle was a waitress for a number of years. She also volunteered in several capacities.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Grindle of Cleburne, and Eddie Alexander of San Antonio; a daughter, Beverly Bender of Lampasas; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Alexander; by a grandson; and one brother and one sister.

The family requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
