Mrs. Barrett
Sue Barrett Sue Nance Barrett died Sept. 11, 2008, at North Austin Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. She was 61.
Funeral services are Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas with Ministers Reid Schaub and David Bruce officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mrs. Barrett was born Jan. 22, 1947, in San Saba, the daughter of Marvin D. and Nan Edwin Taylor Nance.
She married Charles Barrett on June 17, 1965, in Lampasas.
Mrs. Barrett began working for Mr. Wooten at the local credit bureau, then worked for the local Lone Star Gas office. She went to work for Peoples National Bank and stayed with that institution through its transition to United Peoples Bank. She then went to work for First Texas Bank where she was in charge of new accounts.
Mrs. Barrett was very involved in community work. She served on the Spring Ho Committee and worked for many years with The Salvation Army.
Survivors include her husband of Lampasas; two sons, Clint Barrett and wife, Allison, of Round Rock, and Bryan Barrett and wife, Nichole, of Aubrey; five grandchildren, Hunter Barrett, Cassie Barrett, Callie Barrett, Taylor Barrett and Katy Beth Barrett; a great-aunt; two brothers-in-law, Gary Barrett and wife, Emiline, of Lampasas, and Ronnie Barrett and wife, Sharon, of Springhill, Fla.
Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her parents.
The family requested memorials be made to The Salvation Army or to the charity of one's choice.
