The Lampasas FFA will host the annual San Saba District FFA Fun Day on Saturday from 3-7 p.m. at Hancock Park and the Hostess House.

The 2008-09 District FFA officer team is led by Lampasas High School's Sara Jackson, president; and Josh Logsdon, sentinel, Lometa High School.

Assisting with the conference will be Area 7 FFA secretary and LHS chapter officer Kelsie Ray.

The purpose of Fun Day is to create leadership opportunities for new students across the district, which encompasses 16 schools, including Lampasas and Lometa. About 170 members are expected to attend.

A meal will be provided, with financial assistance from Texas Land Bank in Lampasas.

Leadership workshops will be held for individual member growth and development.

FFA members also can participate in a dance with disc jockey Brandon "Tex" Evans of Burnet providing music. The free-flow pool will be open for swimming, and certified lifeguards will be on duty.
