Burnet Democrats plan meeting in Marble Falls

Bella Sera Restaurant is the site of the Thursday meeting of the Burnet County Democrats on U.S. Highway 281 North in Marble Falls.

The gathering begins at 6 p.m.

Guy Stewart, Burnet County Democratic chairman, said the agenda will include a visit from a representative of Rick Noriega's campaign, a U.S. Senate candidate. He will discuss Noriega's progress and what needs to be done to get him elected.

The Yellow Dog Birthday Party at Dale and Eddie Shell's home had about 200 on hand to pet the 27-year-old donkey on his birthday and admire his son, Obama. Residents of Llano, Blanco, Travis and Lampasas counties enjoyed barbecue and birthday cake.

Elected officials and those running for office in November also were recognized.

Democratic Headquarters, on Hwy. 29 East, is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for supporters to pick up signs, bumper stickers, candidate information and voter registration information.
