Study the issues
As I sat and watched the extravaganza that was the close of the 2008 Democratic convention, my mind harkened back to my high school World History class, where I watched on film similar glitzy productions produced by the pre-World War II Nazis.
There were thousands at the Denver Broncos stadium who stood in long lines for hours to enter and upon entering sat for hours awaiting the spectacle, while Democrat fat-cats arrived in limos to special gates where they could quickly enter and be whisked by elevator to access skyboxes at their leisure.
Sen. Obama spoke of the party heroes FDR and JFK. JFK brought Americans prosperity by lowering taxes, pride by instituting a first-class space program, and the Vietnam War escalation. Sen. Obama wants to raise taxes on those who are highly successful and provide the jobs that made America great. JFK said not to ask what America can do for us, but what can we do for America. Sen. Obama and his ilk want America to become a complete nanny state.
Sen. Obama and many in his party decry the treatment of prisoners captured on a battlefield and housed at Gitmo. Do the Democrats refuse to consider American history of FDR's leadership during World War II, when he established military tribunals and interned thousands of Americans of Japanese descent?
Fellow Americans, before entering that voting booth on or before Nov. 4, please study the issues and how the candidates stand on these issues confronting America.
