Church class offers Sunday morning event

2008-09-05 / Lifestyles

The Come Thirsty Class at First United Methodist Church will begin a study of Os Guinness' book "The Call" on Sunday mornings, beginning Sept. 14 at 10 a.m.

For centuries, finding purpose in life has been at the heart of the human quest. Yet for many, the path to purpose remains unclear. In "The Call," the author goes beyond a surface understanding of God's call and addresses the fact that He has a specific purpose for individual lives. "No idea short of God's call can ground and fulfill the truest human desire for purpose and fulfillment," writes Guinness.

Why am I here? What is God's call in my life? How should God's call affect my career, my plans for the future and my concepts of success? Guinness seeks to answer these questions in his new edition.

"The Call" offers a practical study guide to accompany readers through their own journey and to facilitate group discussion. The books should be available by Sunday.

Those interested in attending the class should notify the church office at 556-5513 or Larry Hart at 556-6889 for planning purposes.
