Vision Downtown Lampasas! will hold a fund-raising event Sept. 26 on downtown Courtyard Square.

An Evening Under the Stars will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by a brisket dinner at 7 p.m.

The Jarrett Schaub Band will provide entertainment, and silent and live auctions will be held.

VDL!'s mission is to redevelop the central business district of Lampasas that will target housing, art, retail, building design and renovation of historic properties.

It is the goal to revitalize and enhance the personality and flare of the downtown area, said a VDL! spokesman.

"The city of Lampasas sits at a crossroads in a corridor of communities that are attracting outside activity and tourism," said the spokesman. "Downtown Lampasas must continue to grow in order to be competitive and a vibrant community."

Tickets for the fund-raiser are $25 each and are on sale at the Lampasas County Chamber of Commerce office, from any VDL! task force member, First Texas Bank or The National Banks of Central Texas.
