Services held Thursday for school board official

William Haisler Jr. William Haisler Jr. Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees member William A. Haisler Jr. of Kempner died Aug. 31, 2008, in Houston. He was 67.

Funeral services with military honors were Sept. 4 at Sheppard Chapel of Memories in Copperas Cove, conducted by Dr. Brant Myers, Lampasas ISD superintendent, and James (Jamie) Briggs, president of the Lampasas ISD Board of Trustees.

Burial will be at a later date at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Mr. Haisler was born July 3, 1941, in Temple, the son of William A. and Kathryn Roper Haisler Sr.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a human resource manager for Delta Centrifugal Corp. in Temple.

Mr. Haisler married Cinda Lou Burden on April 11, 1964, in Houston.

He was in his third term as an LISD trustee and was a member of the Lampasas Economic Develop- ment Corp., the Temple Chamber of Commerce and Central Texas Human Resource Management Association. Mr. Haisler served as a voting delegate for the Republican Party and had set up the industrial program at Temple High School and Temple College.

Survivors include his wife of Kempner; two daughters, Charlotte Renee Sakallah and husband, Nageeb, of Dickinson, and Cheryl Elise Haisler-Blankenship and husband, John, of Georgetown; one son, William A. Haisler III, and wife, Michele, of Copperas Cove; five grandchildren, David Finberg, Jason Finberg, Sasha Slysh, Chace Blankenship and Amelia Blankenship; and four sisters, Linda Haisler and Dorothy Haisler Taylor, both of Temple, and Sharan Haisler and Karan Haisler, both of Moody.
