Jail sentence given in case
In recent 27th District Court action with Judge Joe Carroll presiding, Elliot G. Pope, 52, was sentenced to 18 months in state jail for injury to a child. He was credited with time served.
A 10-month jail sentence was given to Thomas Sokou, 36, for fraudulent use of identification. He received credit for time served.
George Gail Minga, 39, of Killeen received four years' deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine for forgery.
Sergio Argumendo Castruita, 26, of Lampasas had his bond reduced to $12,000 on a charge of aggravated assault on a public servant.
For possession of a controlled substance, Don Dwayne Griffin, 48, is set for a punishment hearing on Oct. 10. A presentence investigation was ordered.
A Sept. 5 review is slated for James Estep, 38. He is charged with theft over $1,500 and under $20,000.
Douglas Lynn McGuffey, 22, is set to enter a plea Sept. 5 for possession of a controlled substance.
For criminal conspiracy, Edward Hershall Alman, 29, of Burnet is scheduled for a Sept. 5 pretrial hearing.
Jonathan Hurt, 23, of Ballinger faces a Sept. 12 pretrial hearing for forgery.
A Dec. 8 jury trial is on the docket for Bruce Anthony Cardenas. The 20-year-old Copperas Cove resident is charged with assault on a public servant.
The state withdrew a motion to revoke for William Richard Rich Jr., 29, charged with driving while intoxicated, felony repetition.
