The Democratic Women's Association of Lampasas and Lampasas County Democrats will co-sponsor the annual Labor Day Picnic at the Hancock Park Pavilion Monday beginning at 11 a.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs, beans and cookies will be served. A cake auction will be held, and this year, a quilt, made by Dale Funk's mother, Ethel Manley, will be auctioned off. The specially designed and handpieced quilt was hand-quilted by Bernice Alexander. Several Democratic candidates will be on hand, including Woodie Jones and Dr. Edra Bogle. Daniel Melder, Democratic county chairman, will be master of ceremonies. The public is invited.
