Gower found guilty

A jury of 10 men and two women on Thursday found Donald Gower guilty of capital murder in his wife's July 4, 2007, shooting death. The jury deliberated for about 50 minutes before announcing it had reached a verdict.

Joe Carroll, 27th Judicial District judge, sentenced Gower to life in prison within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Gower will file an appeal to the Third Court of Appeals and will be represented by new legal counsel.
