Badgers defense steals the show in final tuneup before season opener
      Just before the live quarter of Friday's scrimmage against Glen Rose, Lampasas head football coach Ryan Bailey talked to his team about getting their minds right, focusing and keeping their composure. It worked.

Lady Badgers lose in tournament
      Losing streaks are no fun. Just ask the Lady Badgers varsity volleyball team. When the Gatesville Tournament drew to a close Saturday, Lampasas was still without a win on the season, as it dropped three matches over the two-day competition, falling to Waco Robinson, Hamilton and Lago Vista.

In other volleyball news...
      While the varsity volleyball team was unsuccessful during the Gatesville Tournament, the junior varsity and freshman squads fared much better. The junior varsity lost in its consolation match, and the freshmen dominated the competition to win the entire tournament.

Badgers play marathon of matches over weekend
      The Lampasas High School tennis team went a full seven days without playing in a scheduled match, but over the weekend, they made up for lost time. The team spent Friday and Saturday in Killeen participating in a total of 76 matches against Shoemaker, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights and Ellison, with each player registering a singles and a doubles match against each school.
